Yes. A 360 photo booth works at beach weddings on Lumley and Aberdeen beach if it stands on a firm, level base rather than loose sand, faces away from the wind, and has cover nearby. The dry season, from December to April, is the safest time. From May to November, plan the booth under a covered terrace or marquee.
Why the beach works for 360 video
The long white-sand beach running from Cape Sierra Leone through Aberdeen to Lumley is one of Freetown’s favourite settings for weddings and parties. A 360 clip with the ocean and sunset behind the guests is one of the most striking videos the booth can make.
Choose the season
Freetown’s rainy season runs from May to November, and storms come in quickly off the Atlantic. For a beach booth with no cover, the dry season, December to April, is the safe window. In the rainy season, put the booth under a covered terrace, a beach-bar roof or inside a marquee.
Get the base right
Loose sand is the main challenge. The platform must be level and steady so the arm turns safely, so it needs:
- a firm base laid over the sand, or
- a deck, terrace or paved area at the edge of the beach.
Tell us the venue when you book, and we will plan the base around it.
Work with the wind
Evening sea breezes carry fine sand and salt spray. The booth is set with its back to the wind so it blows behind the guests, not into the lens, and the attendant wipes the lens and ring light between groups.
Light at sunset
The best beach clips are often in the half hour around sunset. After dark, the ring light keeps the guests lit, but the beach behind them goes black. Many couples open the booth before sunset to catch both.
Power on the beach
Beach bars and restaurants often run music and lights from one generator. The booth runs on its own backup power, so it does not compete with the DJ and keeps going if the generator struggles.
Venue checklist
- Is there a deck, terrace or paved area near the party?
- Is there a covered fallback if it rains?
- Which way does the evening wind blow?
- How far is it from where the car parks to the booth spot?

Bottom line
A beach booth works well on a firm base, with its back to the wind, in the dry season or under cover. To check your beach wedding date, call or WhatsApp +232 75 009582.

Can the platform go directly on the sand?
No. Loose sand is uneven and shifts. The platform needs a firm, level base laid down first, or a spot on a deck or terrace.
Will the sea breeze affect the booth?
Wind carries sand and spray, so the booth is placed with its back to the wind and the lens is wiped regularly.
Does the booth need power at the beach?
No. It runs on its own backup power, which suits beach venues with limited sockets.
